IMEA Audition Materials on Website

Dear Students,

I have uploaded the IMEA Senior Level (grades 11 and 12) Etudes and Scales sheets for every instrument.  To access the etudes click here.  REMEMBER you will need the class password to be able to access all of these files.

If you are a Freshman or a Sophomore, start looking at the etudes for the year when you become eligible to audition.  In other words, if you are a Freshman, you will be eligible to audition for Senior Level IMEA by 2015-2016, which means you have 2 full years to practice your Set 3 etudes.  Take advantage of this information, and start practicing now.

This year we are on etudes in Set 1.  IMEA Etudes run on a 3 year cycle, so next year we will be on Set 2.  Please pay careful attention to the etude details sheet for Set 1, so that you only practice the designated measures of your etude(s).

More information about IMEA will be posted soon.

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Mr. G.

GREAT FIRST PERFORMANCE!

9/7/2013

Congratulations SABRE Marching Band on a fantastic performance during Friday night's game!  This is our first performance of the year, and our first exposure to the student body, and we have received enormous amounts of compliments from students, staff, family, friends, and alumni.  Your hard work continues to pay off, and I am very proud of your progress.  Our goal is to continue this positive momentum and get our entire halftime show on the field by the next game on Friday September 20th.

Here are some things we need to accomplish in the next two weeks:
1) Complete half time
2) Learn at least 2-3 "long" stands tunes
3) Memorize all pregame and halftime music

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend, and I am already looking forward to getting back to work this week.
Please continue to spread the word about this blog.

Mr. G.

p.s. remember, you can always email me with suggestions for songs you would like us to play.  It looks like Seven Nation is a big hit with the student body...we need more songs like that!
